Happy days!
*Congratulations*
to my best bud Caroline and her husband Dave! :)
Being a bridesmaid I had a few duties to carry out....
anything for my dude!
So a few drawings and even more
cups of tea later (thanks Dave!)
Caroline fell in love with the mice
and so I began to draw!
With 'travel' as the theme of the wedding
the mice in the hot air balloon
became the invites for the big day!
The mice became the feature for the top of the
very delicious cake!
Made with wire, paper and glue
(as not to weigh down and damage the cake)
(as not to weigh down and damage the cake)
and painted with the fitting colours of the wedding
the little mice cake toppers are something my friends
can keep as a reminder of their special day!

Let's have a picnic!
Let's have a picnic!
It's great to see the sun out, I hope it's sunny where you are!?
This is an illustration I did for my Aunt as a gift for my cousin and his wife's new baby! Congratulations!
Her name and date of birth were engraved on the tree. It's nice to be able to personalise a present for someone, it makes it special, just for them.
Hope you have a lovely weekend! x

The little things...
Hey!
Hope you had a great weekend! Just a quick pic with my new pen! It's so fine, great for small details! Silly to be excited about a pen...ah sure, it's the little things!

What was that?
Hey, this is a silly doodle I did last night in two seconds!Sometimes I think of things and I just have to draw them! I even see people like cartoons and I have to draw them too! Inspiration is everywhere! This drawing might not make sense at first then you realise what it is! Daft!
Hope you have a great weekend! x x

I lost my phone number can I have yours?
I haven't posted anything for a while, opps!
I drew this last week. She's showing off all her best bits (maybe a little too much!) and he's trying all his best lines to get her attention! Though she does not look very impressed!
I hope you've had a good week so far. I've been drawing, making stuff out of polystyrene and looking after my sisters cat and chickens!

Sometimes I plan drawings and take ages over them
but sometimes the quick and simple doodles are just as nice!
These little cute foxes were on a card I made.
I can't believe it's FRIDAY again... already!!
Have a great weekend! x

Two striped arms and two striped legs
I doodled this last night. I'd quite like to make him in 3d with arms and legs that move!
It reminds me of when my friend wore the tubes from the back of a dryer on his arms! The tubes extended and crumpled back up like a concertina! We had hours of fun and took lots of funny photos!!
Hope you're having a nice evening!

I didn't have time...
"I didn't have time to blow dry it so it looked like a hedge"
My lovely friend said this phrase....
(this is not what she looks like though!)
I have a funny book of all the phrases I wrote down at the time!
The market was a great success this week, my colourful cards went down a treat! I hope you had a great weekend!
Nice to see the sun today! x

See you there!
I am working on a collection of illustrated cards and prints. These are a few examples of the cards. They are all hand drawn and coloured with pencils and pens. I will be bringing a selection of them down to St. George's market, Belfast where my sisters Christine, Linda and I have a stall at the weekends!
Love to see you there!
Look out for 3 Crafty Birds!
Have a great weekend! x

Watch out little lady!
Don't do it Mr. Frog!
Poor ladybird!
I was drawing some frogs for a collection of cards and decided to make a naughty one (the good frogs are on the cards). Just a quick doodle with coloured pencils and black and white pens.
Happy pancake day!

Dance with me!
Dancing is good for you!
When the clouds are grey and it's cold outside it's good to put on some music, crank it up (or have your little mouse friend play some good tunes) and dance around the living room!
We all do it!!
...don't we?!?

Frog hands
"You have little magic frog hands"
My dear friend said this to me!! I used to give her hand and arm massages and so this was a compliment! Luckily my hands aren't actually like this! The little frog man seems quite mesmerized by his own hands!
This illustration was part of a collection of drawings I did for my degree. I would take notes of things I overheard in queues, on trains, in coffee shops or as I was walking down the street as ideas for my next drawing! The snippets of conversations, when taken out of contest, and drawn in a literal way can be very funny!
I hope you had a great weekend! x

A very important day.
This little chap has been given the important responsibility of being chief key holder. Ready and willing he awaits the handover. I like using watercolour pencils because I feel like I still have alot of control over the drawing. I layer the colours up and sometimes draw directly with the wet pencil to create a more intense colour. I add detail and shading with a black ink pen and highlights with a white pen.
I've always loved keys and have a few big old rusty ones in my collection of stuff (clutter)! I think it goes back to the days of the princess shoes with the key in the heel. Do you remember these?! The key was only a little plastic thing with a pin on the back but you really felt like it was so precious and something to protect and treasure because YOU were a princess! I kept the key long after the devastation of growing out of my favourite patent black Sunday shoes.....I digress!

Sitting.....waiting......
This guy started off clean shaven but he's been sitting for a while now. Peacefully watching and patiently waiting for something to happen. If only he just got up off his little stool he could find something fun to do. Maybe he's waiting for the weekend!? Not much longer!
I love pocket watches. My family bought me a beautiful pocket watch, engraved with my initials, as a gift for my graduation! Love it! x

More BIG heads!!
Una, Finn McCool and Benandonner. |
The Scottish giant begging for his life. Photo taken by National Trust. |
These big heads were made at the Beat Carnival last year for the Giant's Causeway visitor centre. I made Finn McCool, his wife Una. Stephen Bamford made Benandonner, the Scottish Giant. Legend has it
Finn McCool and the Scot's feud and stone throwing formed the Giant's Causeway!
I had great fun making Finn and Una! Referring to stills from a promotional video the faces finally took shape. The character heads have to be durable as well comfortable for the performer to wear so lots of things need to be taken into consideration in the design and making process. The costumes really finish the character and it was great to see them at the causeway in the proper setting for the story.
